Seeing murder led teen to drugs

THE life of a Limerick teenager went into a downward spiral after he witnessed his father being murdered near the family home when he was just eight years old, Limerick District Court heard.

James Kelly, aged 18, of Maple Court Kennedy Park, admitted to charges of theft and drink driving. The thefts were carried out to finance his drugs habit.

In one incident earlier this month, he walked into the Parkway Shopping centre and proceeded to load three TV sets into a trolley.
