Eircom statistics ‘biased’

RECENT arrivals to the previously monopolised telephone market believe rising fault rates reported by Eircom this week are worse than the figures made public.

The Alternative Telecom Operators Group ALTO which includes BT Telecom, NTL and Cable & Wireless said the standard set of statistics were biased in favour of customers who stayed loyal to Eircom.

Earlier this week, the communications regulator ComReg said it was disturbed at the performance of Eircom because of the rising number of faults.
