O’Leary leads Ryan tributes

CATHAL RYAN, son of the late Ryanair founder Tony Ryan, has died a mere couple of months after his father.

Captain Ryan, a pilot, helped found the airline and was one of its first pilots. He was a director of the company up to his death. Mr Ryan had been suffering from cancer.

Paying tribute to Mr Ryan, Ryanair chief executive Michael O’Leary said he was a man of vision and that “his expertise and dedication to aircraft safety was pivotal to the development of Ryanair. “Cathal was one of life’s originals. He was bright, charming, witty and tremendous company,” he said.
