THE publication of a report into the delayed diagnosis of cancer in a woman who subsequently had to have a mastectomy has been deferred until January.

The report, which details the results of an investigation into the breast cancer care given to 41-year-old mother-of-three Rebecca O’Malley, as well as 24 other patients, was expected to be published on Monday.

However the investigating body — the Health Information and Quality Authority — yesterday announced publication had been deferred because new information has come to light.
