PUB and club-goers should be subjected to random Garda drug searches to stamp out Ireland’s burgeoning cocaine culture, Fine Gael demanded last night.

The party’s justice spokesman Charlie Flanagan said it was time to destroy the substance’s “socially acceptable” image.

“Cocaine users must be made to realise they will be subject to the full rigour of the law if they use the drug, and An Garda Síochána should clamp down on suspected users,” said Mr Flanagan.
