Jury rules accidental death in trench tragedy

DESPITE danger warnings, a 57-year-old construction worker died in a trench collapse near Kenmare, Co Kerry, on October 26, 2005, an inquest was told in Killarney yesterday.

Father-of-three Michael Burns, of Tahilla, Sneem, Co Kerry, was killed in the housing estate accident.

Robert Tangney, foreman for Tinal Electrical Ltd, Kenmare, the main contractors on the site, said he told Mr Burns to get out of the trench on the previous day.
