Gardaí examine crystal meth threat

THE gardaí are looking at the threat posed by crystal meth in a bid to stem the spread of the dangerous drug.

An EU report last week said use of methamphetamine was growing globally. It said while usage was limited in Europe to the Czech Republic and Slovakia there were concerns about its possible spread.

Methamphetamine, particularly its most powerful form, crystal meth, has had a huge impact on parts of the United States and Asia.
