Rapist gets eight-year sentence for robbery

THE man who raped and killed Ballincollig beautician Rachel Kiely was jailed for a further eight years yesterday — for carrying out a robbery while on bail.

Ian Horgan, of 4 the Hermitage, Macroom, Co Cork, was serving 12 years for raping and killing Ms Kiely, who was walking her dogs in Ballincollig when she was attacked by Horgan seven years ago.

He was due to be released in September 2010.
