Cabin crew take off for calendar
Boss Michael O’Leary rounded up 12 of Ryanair’s sexiest air hostesses and flew them to Spain for a photoshoot at Barcelona’s Girona Airport.
Called the Girls of Ryanair, the racy 2008 calendar goes on sale during flights from tomorrow and is priced €7.
Dressed only in beach bikinis, Ryanair cabin crew from 12 of the airline’s European bases posed inside and outside a Boeing 737-800 plane for the calendar.
Airline director Eddie Wilson said: “Ryanair’s gorgeous cabin crew are raising the cabin temperature with what must be 2008’s hottest calendar.
“For just €7, passengers will be able to bring a dozen of Europe’s most stunning cabin crew home with them.” All proceeds go to Angels Quest, an Irish charity for children with special needs.
Among the model cabin crew is Dublin-based Joanna, who is Miss October and is pictured about to begin cleaning a Boeing plane with just a sponge soaked in suds.
Liverpool stewardess Karolina is Miss March and is seen grappling with a fuel hose while London Stansted crew member Nicola is modelling a life vest in a way few passengers have seen before.
But, Ryanair being Ryanair, colourful chief executive Michael O’Leary has been unable to resist having a dig at his bitter rivals Aer Lingus in the calendar.
At the back of the calendar is a picture of a glamorous granny wearing nothing but a shamrock-pattern swimsuit next to the words: “Sneak preview of the Aer Lingus 2009 cabin crew calendar.”
