Almost 30% of working rights cases taken by foreigners

NEARLY a third of working rights cases taken against employers last year were by foreign workers.

Employers were hauled before the Rights Commissioner for a range of alleged offences over wages, working hours, unfair dismissals and minimum pay issues.

More than 17% of workers accusing bosses of rights abuses were from the construction industry.
