Man accused of assault released on bail

A DUBLINER who is accused of threatening to kill his wife and members of An Garda Síochána with a hatchet was brought before Cork District Court yesterday.

The alleged incident at the centre of the case occurred at 7pm on Monday in Ballincollig, Co Cork.

Garda Dave Barry prosecuted John McDonagh on four separate charges — threatening to kill Caroline Maughan and gardaí with a hatchet at Church View, Ballincollig, on October 22, resisting arrest by Garda Donal Casey and Garda Dave Barry, and assaulting Garda Barry.
