Threshold urges emergency housing fund payments

SPIRALLING rents which are forcing poor tenants onto the streets have prompted calls for emergency housing payments from the Government.

The national housing agency, Threshold, said it helped 18,246 people last year with housing difficulties. More than half of these people had incomes below €15,000.

Threshold helps tenants in poor housing, those living with vermin, mould and dampness and other conditions, on a daily basis.
