IRISH music fans were the world’s most generous when rock band Radiohead invited listeners to name their own price for the group’s latest album.

Irish fans paid on average €6.38 each for the album — available only on the internet — while listeners in the band’s native Britain were the world’s worst pennypinchers, paying just €4.52.

Earlier this month Radiohead released their latest album In Rainbows, allowing fans to download the record off the internet for free or for any sum up to £99.99 (€143.45).
