Hospital imposes visitor ban due to vomiting bug

A VISITOR ban has been imposed at South Tipperary General Hospital in Clonmel following a suspected outbreak of the vomiting bug.

According to the Health Service Executive, the restrictions will be in place over the coming days and will mainly affect the medical wards.

Already, nine patients at the hospital have shown symptoms of the bug — the noro virus — while there are 12 “contact” cases that are being monitored.
