Fishermen’s families welcome raising of trawlers

THE wrecks of two trawlers lying off the south-east coast are expected to be brought to Arklow harbour early next month.

Transport Minister Noel Dempsey announced yesterday that Irish Diving Contractors Ltd had been awarded the contract to raise the Maggie B and the Pere Charles.

Families of seven fishermen lost when the trawlers sank in March of last year and January of this year have welcomed the news.
