Poster thieves acting ‘out of mischief’
It is four months since the election’s survivors, winners and losers climbed ladders countrywide to tear down their portraits, but rogue locals who salvaged election posters are allegedly returning to the main roads and byroads with plastic twine and ladder in hand and hanging the masterpieces again.
Just ask Cork South Central’s John Dennehy who narrowly lost out on a seat in the recent election. Despite his retirement from politics, he’s had to climb the poles again after an election poster yesterday popped up on the Grange Road.
