Five key lodgments in frame

TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern failed to provide background details to bank lodgments in an order of discovery, the Mahon Tribunal heard yesterday.

Mr Ahern said, however, he had tried his best to comply with the tribunal order for details of transactions supplied through AIB in January 2005.

He said, however, a crucial document handed to his secretary was not included. This detailed seven large cash lodgments with no record of their source.
