THE Health Service Executive (HSE) is investigating a possible outbreak of E-coli in a Sligo village, which has led to the hospitalisation of six people.

All patients are now in recovery but the departments of public health and environmental health are working closely to identify the source of the 0157 infection.

There are concerns that these people had been in the village of Enniscrone between July 20 and August 20 and that the illness may have originated here.
