Courses offered to unsuccessful CAO applicants

ABOUT 120 courses in engineering, science and other subject areas are to be offered to disappointed college applicants by the Central Applications Office (CAO) this afternoon.

About 15,000 people were left with no offer of any of their course choices yesterday morning and are eligible to apply for the vacant places, as is anyone who has not yet already applied to CAO this year.

The expected number of available courses matches that of this time a year ago. The courses are made available where a programme has not had enough qualified applicants to fill it.
