TOUGH new measures to counteract the problem of troublesome tenants in local authority housing estates are being planned by the Government.

Minister for Housing Batt O’Keeffe will today announce details of legislation designed to tackle the problem of antisocial behaviour in local authority housing estates.

It is expected to include a broader definition of what constitutes anti-social behaviour to provide additional powers to local authorities to tackle the problem of unruly neighbours.
