Institute on ball with rugby course

A PROFESSIONAL career in rugby could be on the cards for students enrolling for a new course at Institute of Technology Carlow.

The three-year degree programme, being offered in partnership with the Irish Rugby Football Union and Leinster Rugby, will establish a player-centred academy by delivering a course incorporating player development, coaching and fitness. The course will also include modules in business and communications.

Details for the BA in sport and exercise (rugby) will be unveiled on Monday, with the first students expected to begin their studies next month.
