Knife victim praises doctors

A YOUNG man who received 600 stitches after he was sliced repeatedly in a vicious knife attack has praised the doctors who brought him back to life.

Kevin McDonagh almost died three times in the hours after he was rushed to hospital with gaping wounds and massive blood loss following the assault in the early hours of last Sunday morning.

Each time his condition hit critical, doctors at the Louth County Hospital battled valiantly to bring him back and stabilise him while simultaneously beginning the painstaking process of stitching his butchered flesh back together.
