TAOISEACH Bertie Ahern was yesterday accused of being “personally responsible” for the continued problem of overcrowding in Dublin Airport by Ryanair chief Michael O’Leary.

In a robust criticism of the Taoiseach at a press conference in London yesterday, Mr O’Leary said that the failure to provide a second terminal had resulted in mass overcrowding in the Dublin Airport as it heads into its busiest period.

“I am blaming Bertie Ahern — absolutely. Himself and the headbangers in the trade unions who between them couldn’t make a decision, couldn’t organise a piss-up in a brewery,” said Mr O’Leary.
