Customs officers seize 260,000 illegal cigarettes

CUSTOMS yesterday delivered a major blow to a criminal outfit involved in the large-scale trafficking of contraband cigarettes.

Officers sought the support of gardaí when they raided five properties across Dublin, including four in the north inner city.

They seized a total of 260,000 cigarettes and almost 90kg of roll-your-own tobacco in three of the properties.
