A COUNTY Limerick town is bracing itself for pitched battles over the August holiday weekend.

Kilmallock is confident that Ireland’s largest multi-period battle re-enactment will prove a big tourism event, bringing thousands of visitors.

From Friday, August 3, to Monday, August 5, the town will come alive with more than 200 battles.
