Food giant to cut more than 100 jobs in sites shutdown

MORE than 100 jobs are to be slashed in Dublin and Tipperary after food manufacturer Premier Foods announced the closure of three of its sites.

Premier Foods Ireland — formed after the amalgamation of Chivers Ireland, Campbells and RHM Ireland — is to close facilities at Coolock, Blanchardstown and Thurles following an extensive review of its manufacturing and warehousing operations.

Activities at the plants will be phased out by January 2008, starting in September.
