Gas bills to drop by €100 as regulator orders 10.8% cut

THE average annual gas bill is to be cut by €100. Bord Gáis yesterday announced a drop of almost 11% in the price of gas.

The 10.8% cut has been imposed by the Government’s energy regulator. Bord Gáis had planned a 9.7% reduction.

From October the average bimonthly bill will be €137, down from €154 after the cost of gas tumbled on world markets.
