Appeal for witnesses after fatal road accident

The crash between a small truck and an articulated lorry happened on the so-called ‘back road’ between Carrigtwohill and Midleton, Co Cork, yesterday afternoon.

The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene by a local doctor. Gardaí were forced to close the road for a number of hours as the debris was cleared and the man’s body was taken to Cork University Hospital, where a post mortem was to be carried out.
