FINE GAEL last night accused ministers of changing the law to allow cash-hungary insurance companies to crush the “little guy”.

The party’s enterprise spokesman, Phil Hogan, condemned Government moves to restrict legal challenges to Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) rulings.

He attacked a new bill passed by the Dáil which blocks legal costs being awarded to a person who fails in a bid to get a PIAB award increased in court.
