Drivers face tunnel fix delays

MOTORISTS are facing lengthy delays around Cork’s Jack Lynch tunnel every weekend for two months after major repairs started there last night.

A team of nine contractors began repairing the tunnel’s north-bound bore which was severely damaged in an accident last month.

It was closed at 7pm and will remain closed until 7am on Monday. A contra-flow system was in place through the south-bound bore.
