Nurse’s chief issues benchmarking threat

WITH exactly a month to go until nurses make their submissions to the benchmarking body, a senior figure is already predicting they will be disappointed.

If the nurses do not get what they feel they are entitled to, Des Kavanagh of the Psychiatric Nurses Organisation has said nursing unions could consider to a return to the action which saw thousands of nurses take industrial action earlier this year.

The Irish Nurses Organisation and the Psychiatric Nurses Association will make their written submissions to the benchmarking body on July 13 and on July 23 the body will hear oral submission in support of the written documents.
