FIANNA Fáil last night expressed confidence it can cut a coalition deal with the Greens in the next 48 hours.

Social and Family Affairs Minister Seamus Brennan insisted “good, solid progress” was being made between the two parties after the third day of negotiations ended.

Mr Brennan said he expected another two days of intensive talks before the Greens “pressure point” Sunday conference when two thirds of delegates have to approve any deal to go into Government.
