Bertie looks to Westminster for timely boost

FINE Gael leader Enda Kenny was on hand at Westminster yesterday to see Taoiseach Bertie Ahern create a little bit of history by addressing the British houses of parliament.

Labour leader Pat Rabbitte, on the other hand, was nowhere to be seen.

That’s because he had declined an invitation to Westminster, instead opting for the campaign trail in south Tipperary.
