Nurses threaten longer walkouts

NURSES are now threatening longer hospital walkouts in response to the HSE’s move to dock their wages.

Both the Irish Nurses Organisation (INO) and the Psychiatric Nurses Association (PNA) warned yesterday that HSE’s move was totally provocative and would lead to a serious escalation of the dispute.

The HSE has told 45,000 nurses and midwives who have been on a work-to-rule for six weeks that they have until 5pm this evening to return to normal working or face having 13% deducted from their pay.
