Radical new aircraft seating plan has passengers facing each other

WINDOW seat, aisle or rear-facing?

That is the choice which air passengers may face in the near future as a radical new seating arrangement for commercial aircraft is being considered by 10 large airlines, including British Airways.

The designers of the new ‘Freedom’ layout claim it will enable airlines to add up to 50 seats on larger aircraft used in long-haul flights like the Airbus A380. Such rear-facing seats are already in use in business-class sections of some airlines like BA.
