Outgoing TD’s firm to ‘tap’ State for sports funds

OUTGOING Fianna Fáil TD Jim Glennon plans to launch a sports consultancy firm which will lobby for Government funds.

The north Dublin TD yesterday revealed he intends to advise sporting bodies on using facilities at Abbotstown, the site of the defunct Bertie Bowl project.

Mr Glennon insists there is ample opportunity to “piggybag” the 2012 London Olympics, persuading foreign teams to train here.
