A REZONING decision by Kerry County Council opens the way for a new 92-bedroom hotel in the Caragh Lake area, Killorglin.

Brothers Paudie and Vincent Sheahan, well-known Killarney building contractors, have plans for the hotel on a site at Farrantoureen, which will include leisure and conference facilities and parking for almost 400 cars.

To pave the way for a planning application, councillors voted in favour of a material contravention of their development plan.
