Cancer specialist accuses INO of causing patients added worry

A TOP specialist yesterday accused the INO of causing unnecessary stress and worry to cancer patients by refusing his requests to keep open a 24-hour helpline for out-patients.

One woman cancer patient, had to be rushed into hospital on Tuesday night after she could not make contact with the oncology unit at the Mid Western Regional Hospital when she became unwell at home.

She tried unsuccessfully to make contact with the hospital by phone.
