Fahy hospitalised on eve of jail term

DISGRACED Galway County Council member Michael Fahy, who was due to begin a 12-month jail sentence today, was taken to hospital in Galway last night.

He was brought by ambulance from his home in Ardrahan and admitted to the A&E unit at University College Hospital Galway shortly after 7pm.

The hospital declined to give any information on why he was admitted but said his condition was being monitored.
