Time has come for action, says expert

ONE of the authors of the latest climate change report said the time had come for action to replace aspiration in the Government’s response to the problem.

Dr John Sweeney of the Irish Climate Analysis and Research Unit at NUI Maynooth said Ireland could be classed as a “delinquent” in international terms because of our high levels of greenhouse gas production.

“We are, on a per capita, basis, one of the worst culprits causing the problem,” he said.
