SSIAs lift car sales to 29,000 in January

MOTORISTS buoyed by the prospects of bumper SSIA windfalls are increasingly splashing out on new cars, latest figures show.

SSIAs lift car sales to 29,000 in January

Last month the Government licensed 29,296 new cars — a 19.2% increase on the 24,579 registered in the same period in 2006.

The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (SIMI), which represents the trade, said the figures revealed a good sales start to the year.
