Appeal for witnesses: man dies in car collision

GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses to a fatal collision which occurred on Saturday in Co Waterford.

A man was killed after being involved in a crash near Glenmore, on the main road between New Ross and Waterford city.

Initial reports indicated that the car he was driving careered out of control and crashed just before 10am.

There were no passengers in the car and no other vehicles were involved, gardaí said.

The identity of the deceased was not being released until family members were informed.
