Justice system ‘fails to deal with violent men’

VIOLENT men will not change their behaviour until there is investment in solutions other than the justice system, a conference in Wexford heard yesterday.

The conference was told the current system did not force men to be accountable for their actions.

British expert in male perpetrator programmes, Paul Wolf Light said punishing behaviour without challenging habits would ultimately expose the victim to greater levels of violence.
