Thieves net designer glasses worth €90,000

GARDAÍ are investigating what they termed a most unusual robbery during which more than €90,000 of designer glasses were stolen from an opticians in Co Cork.

Detectives believe the thieves stole the glasses to order and think there may be a connection to a similar robbery in Co Tipperary before Christmas.

“The thieves seemed to know exactly what they were looking for because they stole designer labels, such as Calvin Klein, Prada, Georgio Armani, Chanel, Ray-Ban and Oasis, to name but a few,” a garda spokesman said.
