AIB provides organisation with €11,800 donation boost
The donation came from the AIB Better Ireland programme which will provide the project with tools and a boat trailer and will help provide boat training.
Meitheal Mara Badoireacht project manager, Padraig Duinn said: “The participants in our project are delighted to receive this funding from AIB as they will benefit from new tools. We provide a secure environment for young people to learn new skills and develop their personal skills.”
Another organisation to benefit is Cobh Community College.
The College received a donation of €10,000, books and four Dell computers.
Cobh Community College, Principal, Frank Donovan said: “This funding is a great boost to our school, as it will enable us to make our new programme a reality.’’
Overall in the last five years over €800,000 has been donated to over 100 groups in Cork and over €250,000 has been donated to over 30 groups in Kerry.
New outdoor furniture, games, puzzles and prizes were donated to community run Vernon House pre-school on the South Douglas Road in Cork, from the AIB programme last year.
Vernon House pre-school childcare manager, Theresa Cairns, said: ‘‘The work we do at Vernon House Pre-school ensures that local children in our care get the mental stimulation they need to develop their interaction skills and begin their education in a safe and secure environment.
