Union wants laptops for secondary teachers

The Association of Secondary Teachers Ireland (ASTI), which made the claim, is seeking payments equivalent to €130 each for 340,000 second level students from the Department of Education — to improve Information and Communications Technology (ICT) facilities in schools.

Part of the money would be used to give every teacher a laptop computer.
