The 26-year-old Mitchelstown native said: “We are devastated. We didn’t think it would come to this. Some people are still in shock — it hasn’t hit me yet. We all loved to work here. Martin did his best. He was fighting for us all the time.

“But you cannot beat the system. That is what it comes down to. The Government always seem to win. At the end of the day it comes down to Mary Harney.”
