THE arrival of Nintendo’s latest gaming machine, the Wii, for the Christmas market has dramatically upped the stakes in the so-called “Game Wars”.

Nintendo have always been known as a mover and shaker, but their latest games console proves that beyond a doubt.

The Wii, which launched in Ireland yesterday, detects hand motions for gameplay. But you’ll have to get moving if you want one — the console is already proving hugely popular.
