THE European Central Bank might be getting the blame from Irish homeowners for raising interest rates over the past year, but the Irish are more in love with the euro than any other Europeans, according to a major new survey.

It reveals that the Irish have adopted the euro more successfully than any other of the 12 EU countries in the eurozone.

Three-quarters of Irish consumers believe the euro has been largely beneficial, despite decreasing enthusiasm for the currency elsewhere in Europe. Just 49% of eurozone consumers feel it is created more benefits than problems.
