Millie joy at toy show invite
Millie has been invited by RTÉ to appear on The Late Later Toy Show.
Millie and Gavin, aged four, are still being treated for burns at the children’s hospital in Crumlin.
The attack took place on September 10 when their mother Sheila Murray was about to take them for a Sunday afternoon drive.
Sheila said the RTÉ invite will help make it a Christmas to remember for Millie.
Ms Murray said: “RTÉ called me and asked if Millie would like to go on the show. I knew straight away she would, as she absolutely loves the toy show.
Millie is very excited about her TV debut.
She said: “I want a doll for Christmas so I hope I can play with dolls on the toy show. All my friends will be watching and I will say ‘hi’ to Gavin because he will be watching it on the telly in the hospital. I hope to see Santa there so that I can tell what me and Gavin want for Christmas.”
Millie has undergone a number of skin grafts and doctors say they are pleased with her progress.
Gavin’s injuries are more serious having received serious burns all over his body.
He has lost his right ear and his back and head are covered in scars.
Two youths aged 17 have been charged in connection with the attack.
